A temple in honour of the Resurrection of Christ and the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Church of Russia is being erected to mark the 100th anniversary of the 1917 Revolution, on the territory of the Sretensky Monastery of Men

On 25 May, the feast of the Ascension of the Lord, the great consecration of the new church of the Resurrection of Christ and the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Church of Russia took place in the Sretensky Monastery.

The consecration and the Divine Liturgy were performed by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. Clergy, residents of the Sretensky Monastery, architects and builders, engineers and icon painters, masters of stone and metal and other workers who participated in the construction of the new church, as well as numerous parishioners prayed at the service. Including the workers of our production who worked there.

These days also mark the 10th anniversary of the reunion of the two parts of the Russian Church, which overcame the separation that began 100 years ago in the days of the February and October revolutions.

‘One hundred years later, we meet this day by comprehending our history, by comprehending the path we have travelled, by glorifying the New Martyrs and Confessors of Christ the Saviour,’ reads a special speach by Bishop Tikhon (Shevkunov) of Podolsk (Podolsk), vicar of the Sretensky Monastery.
