Church Vestments

Priest’s Vestments – the outer garment of the clergy in which it is customary to conduct worship. Church servants are required to wear it during the performance of the rites. This rule has been established since pre-Christian times and remains in effect to this day.

According to the canon, special attire is prescribed for the performance of the sacraments:

The outer riasa is used for all church services except the Liturgy. Festive services in the church require vestments. These include the following elements:

The Epigonation symbolizes the Gospel of the Apostles, is rectangular in shape, and is worn under the vestment;
The Belt symbolizes strength, power, and readiness to dedicate oneself completely to God;
The Epitrachelion symbolizes the towel with which Jesus wiped the feet of the Apostles after washing them.
All items of the priest’s attire are symbolically adorned. The production is carried out by craftsmen strictly following the church canons. The following colors are used for the vestments:

– white.

– selection of color and fabric.
